it’s about understanding God’s principles for stewardship and abundance.
Prayers for Financial Wisdom
Let Us Pray:
Dear Heavenly Father, I am so glad I get to come to You any time I want and speak with You.
You are so good and wonderful, wise and understanding.
And You know all, and yet, still, give me the time of day.
It’s almost too good to be true, but yet I know it’s true because You told me so in Your Word.
And You also said that I can come to you whenever I want and ask for wisdom.
Thank You for that promise because it’s what I need right now. I need wisdom in the area of finances.
Lord, help me to see money through Your eyes. Show me how to be a faithful steward of all You’ve entrusted to me.
Give me discernment to distinguish between needs and wants and courage to make decisions that honor You.
Lord, if there is something I need to know, I’m asking You to show me.
If there are scriptures I have been neglecting to follow, illuminate them to me.
And If there’s a resource that will lead me in the right direction, guide me to it.
Grant me wisdom to:
- Handle my resources with integrity
- Give generously as You have given to me
- Save prudently for the future
- Avoid the trap of materialism
- Trust in Your provision completely
And I make a decision right here and now to listen to what You have to say, to follow on the path You’re leading me on,
and to read Your Word with an open mind and heart to receive instruction and even correction where I need it.
I commit to being a good steward of whatever You provide, whether little or much.
Help me remember that all I have comes from You and belongs to You.
I ask you to give me wisdom in this area, not just for my benefit, but so I can better serve Your kingdom and be a blessing to others.

Let Us Pray:
God, I am calling out to you.
I am taking time right now to seek You and to call out to You. And You said that You would show me things I do not know.
Lord, I don’t know what to do next.
My financial situation needs Your wisdom to bring relief. I don’t have what it takes. But I know You do.
You said I can ask, and it will be given to me, seek and I will find, knock and the door will be open to me.
Today, I’m knocking on heaven’s door for:
- Clear direction in my financial decisions
- Wisdom to recognize opportunities You provide
- Discipline to follow Your financial principles
- Understanding of Your economy versus the world’s economy
I take Your word seriously to mean what it says.
I am asking: will You fill me with Your Wisdom in my finances?
Help me to see the big picture and know what steps to take to move forward.
Not the way the world thinks is a good idea, but how You see fit.
Show me what I am missing.
Give me grace to see where I have missed it in the past, and show me how to move forward with You.
In Proverbs 3 it says to “trust in You with all my heart and not to trust in my own understanding.”
And as a result of this, You will make my path straight.
Since the fastest way between two points is a straight line, I recognize now that Your way is what gets me to my end result quickest.
Trusting in You and acknowledging all You have done, are doing, and will do.
Acknowledging how You created wisdom, therefore, You hold all of it.
I will lay down my own ideas and choose to trust in Yours. I will seek what You want at the sake of seeking what I want.
And thank You, Lord, that when I ask for Your wisdom, You will give it! I expect to see it start to unfold today.

As we seek God’s wisdom, we must allow His Word to illuminate both our practical decisions and our spiritual attitudes about money.

Let Us Pray:
God, I am so grateful for Your Word. It is a lamp unto my feet and a light to my path.
And It helps me to know who You are better. And when I read it and meditate on it, I find out who I am in You.
Your Word says in 1 John 5:14-15,
“And we are confident that he hears us whenever we ask for anything that pleases him.
And since we know he hears us when we make our requests, we also know that he will give us what we ask for.”
That is amazing!
I can pray what You want and know that not only do you hear me, but You’ll do what I ask!
Today, I specifically ask for:
- Wisdom to handle wealth in a way that honors You
- Freedom from the love of money
- Understanding of biblical financial principles
- A generous heart that reflects Your character
- Protection from get-rich-quick schemes
- Patience in building wealth Your way
I have spent the last few days asking for wisdom, knowing it’s fully Your idea to give it.
Thank You for the things You have already shown me, and thank You for the things yet to come.
And today, I’m going to dig deeper into Your word to see the wisdom You have already told me.
As I read, I ask, like Paul in Ephesians 1 prayed, that You would enlighten the eyes of my understanding.
So, as I read the wisdom in the pages of the Bible today, show me how it applies to my situation.
Help me to be both a wise steward and a cheerful giver, knowing that all I have comes from You and belongs to You.
In Jesus name, Amen.
