June 23, 2024, will be remembered as the day a massive fire swept through the Christ Embassy headquarters, located in the Oregun area of Lagos, Nigeria.

The inferno destroyed a substantial part of the building;

however, miraculously, thanks to the swift and effective response of the Lagos State Fire Service, no lives were lost despite the massive blaze.

In the wake of the devastating fire at Christ Embassy’s headquarters, critics seized the opportunity to question God’s love and protection.

“If God truly loves His children, why couldn’t He save the church building from burning?” they asked.

However, Pastor Chris Oyakhilome’s response during a live Sunday service at the church’s campground in Asese, Ogun State, revitalised the congregation’s hope.

With unwavering faith, he declared:

“Nothing happens in the life of a child of God by accident.

During the 2001 Ikeja Cantonment bombing incident, the building vibrated so much that we thought it was going to collapse.

I thought to myself that if it collapsed, I was going to build a bigger, better one.

At the end of the day, it didn’t collapse, and we called the engineers to see if there was any need to bring it down and rebuild, but it was still okay.”

Pastor Chris continued,

“Now that this has happened, we will build a bigger, better, and more glorious one, and the devil will lick his wound.”

With this bold declaration, Pastor Chris Oyakhilome demonstrated faith in the face of adversity.

His words echoed biblical truths:

– “And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good…” (Romans 8:28)

– “The Lord will fulfil his purpose for me; your steadfast love, O God, endures forever…” (Psalm 138:8)

Pastor Chris Oyakhilome’s unwavering response to the fire incident at Christ Embassy’s headquarters embodied God’s promise:

“Be calm in every storm, for better days are ahead” (Psalm 30:5, Jeremiah 29:11). His faith-filled declaration ignited hope within the congregation.

Fast forward to Sunday, October 6, 2024, just a few months after the fire.

Pastor Chris unveiled a breathtaking new design for Christ Embassy’s headquarters, fulfilling his promise to rebuild bigger, better, and more glorious.

Is the devil licking his wounds? Absolutely!

The church emerges victorious, wearing a smile of triumph. 

The devil’s attempt to destroy only fuelled the church’s resolve to rise stronger from the ashes, more vibrant, and more glorious than ever.

The unveiling of the new, state-of-the-art LCA design marks a significant milestone in Loveworld Nation’s journey.

This upgraded iconic structure promises cutting-edge facilities, enhanced congregation experience, and expanded community outreach capabilities.

The devil can now indeed lick his wounds as the church of God continues to march on, unstoppable and unshakeable.

With every setback, the Christ Embassy bounces back stronger, fuelled by faith and a commitment to spreading God’s word.
