Scarcity vs. Abundance
Which Kingdom Are You Living For?
Hold everything loosely, give extravagantly, and lay your life down for His glory. That’s where real abundance is found.
In the world’s kingdom, the motto is “look out for number one.”
Hoard your resources, avoid risk, and do whatever it takes to come out on top.
It’s a kingdom built on the shaky foundation of scarcity and self-preservation.
But in God’s ‘always-enough’ Kingdom the rules are radically different:
In the world’s kingdom, you don’t touch a leper because it might cost you your health. It’s too risky, too sacrificial.
In God’s Kingdom, you touch lepers and bring healing. You step towards the mess because love compels you.
In the world’s economy, we can’t afford to take risks because we might lose something. We clutch tightly to what’s “ours.”
But in God’s economy?
We hold everything loosely, knowing it all belongs to Him anyway.
We take faith-filled leaps because we know our Father owns the cattle on a thousand hills (Psalm 50:10).
Scarcity vs. Abundance
In the world’s system, we wear ourselves out trying to earn, strive, and self-protect. We lose our lives trying to gain them.
But in God’s upside-down Kingdom?
We find true life by laying ours down for His glory.
Yes, We take up our cross and follow Him, and in losing our lives, we find them (Matthew 16:24-25).
So, which kingdom are you living for?
Where is God calling you to reject the world’s scarcity mindset and embrace His Kingdom’s abundance?
What would it look like to touch a leper (the poor and needy) today?
To risk your comfort, resources, or reputation for the sake of love?
How is He inviting you to lose your life for His sake and, in doing so, find real, abundant, eternal life?
It’s not the safe path. It’s certainly not the world’s way.
But it’s the only road that leads to true, lasting treasure.
May you have the courage to live for God’s Kingdom today!
Hold everything loosely, give extravagantly, and lay your life down for His glory.
That’s where real abundance is found.
