The Triumphant Testimony
Your Testimony is Not Only a Direct Attack Against the devil,
But Also an Encouragement to Others Who Are Fighting Battles of Their Own.

One of your most powerful weapons against the enemy is your testimony.
Your testimony is not only a direct attack against the devil, but also an encouragement to others who are fighting battles of their own.
When we tell the story of the battles we have faced, we strike the enemy with a reminder of how present and powerful God was.
And we tell others, victory is possible through Jesus.
The Triumphant Testimony
Testimony = Test
There can be no testimony without a test.
No one wants to endure hardship or pain.
However, when we triumph through the Lord, it gives us a weapon against the enemy and a tool of encouragement to others.
Our testimony is a powerful weapon because it reminds the devil he cannot win.
Therefore, it is possible for us to bear our battle scars yet wear the victor’s crown through Jesus.
There is power in remembering.
See if we want to win today, we need to remember He is the God who gave us victory yesterday.
It is easy to get so overwhelmed by the troubles of today and forget that God was faithful in the past.
Remember, you are still here, and if you have a pulse, you have a purpose.
The Triumphant Testimony
David in I Samuel 30 is having a bad day.
He comes back from battle to find the town burned and his wife and the wives and children of his men taken captive.
David is discouraged, and his men are ready to kill him in mutiny.
And David has gone from victorious leader to the reason his men’s families are gone.
What is David to do now?
David takes a minute, and it says, “David encouraged himself in the Lord.”
I imagine he reminded himself of all that God had done in the past.
He remembered all the victories.
He then gets up, pursues his enemies, slays them, and takes back the men’s families unharmed.
When he remembered the Lord of yesterday, it gave him the strength to fight the battle of today.
It is key to remember what God has done for us in the past and how He never left us.
When we remember Him and His faithfulness, it encourages us to push through whatever we may face.
God’s character and His faithfulness never change. It gives us an anchor through every storm.
Our testimony is our greatest weapon.
Tests may be difficult—some even gut wrenching—but it opens doors for us to speak directly to others’ situations.
It gives you clear vision into someone else’s struggle.
Take some time today, to remember God’s faithfulness yesterday.
Encourage yourself in the Lord, dust yourself off, and pursue your enemy.
The Triumphant Testimony
Revelation 12:9-11 KJV
[9] And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.
[10] And I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, Now is come salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of his Christ:
for the accuser of our brethren is cast down, which accused them before our God day and night.
[11] And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death.
The Triumphant Testimony
Testimony = Remembering
Sometimes the best way to remember yesterday is to build something so in the future you remember your victory in that season.
Joshua, when he was finally leading the people of Israel into the promised land,
was told by the Lord to erect a monument to remind everyone in the future of how God rolled back the water ahead of them that day.
They gathered stones and built the monument there next to the Jordan River.
My father-in-law has pastored for nearly 40 years.
He keeps items he has been given or he has collected to remind him who he is.
One of those items is a shepherd staff he was given.
It reminds him of how he is a shepherd.
And It reminds him of he is to lead and feed the flock God has placed under his care.
There are days he wakes up and is discouraged.
Days in ministry can grow long and hard and often without much encouragement.
It is in those times he can look at the items like the shepherd staff and remember God’s call on his life and why it is he does all that he does.
The Triumphant Testimony
When the days grow long and hard, physical reminders can bring spiritual strength and emotional healing.
Not only are physical reminders a great way for you to remember but also, they are a great conversation starter.
When asked about these items, we get the chance to testify of God’s mighty presence during that season.
Our testimony when spoken will not only encourage us but it also encourages those to whom we share it.
Our testimony has the power to change our countenance and the countenance of others.
For Joshua it was a pile of stones.
It sat by the river, and no one would be able to retreat back into the wilderness without the reminder of how faithful the Lord had been to Israel on their arrival to the promised land.
The pile of stone spoke of a God who lead the way and fulfilled his promise to Israel.
We need reminders in our life, so we do not forget the faithfulness of our God.
We need items we can see with our eyes or hold with our hands that were there when God showed up and showed out.
And We need these items because they testify of a God who did it then and will do it again.
Look around and identify the items you have in your life that remind you of a time that God showed up.
Keep those items close by so when you are discouraged all you have to do is hold them and remember how God faithfully showed up.
The Triumphant Testimony
Joshua 4:4-7 KJV
[4] Then Joshua called the twelve men, whom he had prepared of the children of Israel, out of every tribe a man:
[5] and Joshua said unto them, Pass over before the ark of the LORD your God into the midst of Jordan,
and take you up every man of you a stone upon his shoulder, according unto the number of the tribes of the children of Israel:
[6] that this may be a sign among you, that when your children ask their fathers in time to come, saying, What mean ye by these stones?
[7] Then ye shall answer them, That the waters of Jordan were cut off before the ark of the covenant of the LORD;
when it passed over Jordan, the waters of Jordan were cut off: and these stones shall be for a memorial unto the children of Israel for ever.
The Triumphant Testimony
Testimony = Focus
God has a way of turning our worst moments into our moments of great testimony.
When we trust the Lord with our present, he helps us heal the wounds of our past—
not that our past will ever disappear this side of eternity but that we can help others through our own stories of redemption.
I have a dear friend whose son died in his early thirties.
I knew him when it happened, and it almost consumed him in grief.
He was the lowest he had ever been.
I remember the darkness that seemed to surround that time, and the pain the family was feeling.
It seemed to cripple strong men.
Why did this have to happen?
I do not know nor will I ever know.
It was a bad situation and very painful.
The Triumphant Testimony
However, I have found how God can take our mess and make it someone else’s miracle.
He does it through the testimony of the battle beaten.
My friend is a plumber.
He finds himself in homes all the time of complete strangers.
While he is there talking with the homeowners many times, he finds out they have lost a child as well.
I guess the Bible is correct when it says, “our steps are ordered by the Lord.”
These families begin to open up to him because they feel comfortable talking with someone who has a similar scar.
Therefore, when this happens, the door opens up to share, to testify.
What happens is he ends up praying with them.
Sometimes someone who would never enter the doors of the church accepts Jesus as their Savior in their living room.
A plumber leads them to the Lord when a preacher is not present.
It is the power of testimony.
The Triumphant Testimony
Sometimes our greatest pain produces the greatest salvations when we begin to live out our testimony.
Job in the Bible lost almost everything.
He lost his herds, his servants, and even his children, yet he never lost his focus.
Even in the middle of his pain, Job never let the pain from battle surpass his belief in who God is.
His pain painted his testimony.
Jesus assured us “In this life you will have trouble,” but it doesn’t change anything about who God is.
When we use our test as a testimony, God gives us a seat at a table where we normally would have no place.
Keep your focus through your pain. Remember that Christ has overcome this world.
The Triumphant Testimony
John 16:33 KJV
[33] These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.
