The fountain of life church (TFOLC) was established by Late Pastor Taiwo (1956-2023) and Late Bimbo Odukoya (1960–2005).
Both co-founded The Fountain of Life Church in 1992, with a stated vision “to teach men and women the art of building successful relationships and the principles of leadership so they can be who they are created to be.
At the University of Ibadan,Late Odukoya and Bimbo Williams started a romance that resulted in their marriage in 1984. Three kids were born from the union.(Tolu Odukoya, (Pastor) Jimmy Odukoya and Tobi Odukoya.)
Late Bimbo Odukoya was a Nigerian pastor, writer, highly sought conference speaker, youth mentor, marriage counsellor, and televangelist. She died as a result of the Sosoliso Airlines Flight 1145 crash on December 11, 2005.
Although, the marriage between Late pastor Odukoya and Bimbo produced three children, Odukoya remarried in 2010 to Rosemary Simangele, otherwise known as Pastor Nomthi, a South African, who gave him two children (boys) Timileyin and Jomiloju Odukoya. Having battled cancer for two years, Pastor Nomthi, in November 2021, succumbed to the illness.
Pastor Odukoya the former senior pastor of the Fountain of Life Church, a megachurch with branches all over Nigeria, was a well-known and respected figure in the Nigerian Christian community. He was also a successful businessman and philanthropist.
His death was announced via the church’s official Facebook page, on the 8th of august 2023: “The Fountain of Life Church Family, in total submission to the will of God almighty, announces the passing unto greater glory of our father, teacher, a great servant of the most high God, Pastor Daniel Taiwo Odukoya, Founding Pastor of The Fountain of Life Church, who passed unto glory on the 7th of August 2023 in the USA,” the message on the church’s Facebook page reads.
“We are in total submission to you LORD. We thank the Lord for the gift of a greater leader.”
He was buried in September 2023.
On Sunday, 17th of September Jimmy Odukoya was announced as the new senior pastor and general overseer.
Rotimi Okpaise, a pastor of the Fountain of Life Church, said the late Odukoya confided in the Board of Trustees (BoT) members about the succession plan before his demise.
While addressing the congregation, Okpaise revealed Jimmy’s selection as the senior pastor and chairperson of the board was a unanimous decision of the BoT. “The board has chosen Saturday, September 30, 2023, as the date of Jimmy’s installation,” he said.
Jimmy Odukoya, The new General overseer of Fountain of Life Church is an Actor, motivational speaker, preacher and musician.
He was the Youth Pastor at the Transformation church in Oklahoma, USA, as well as shouldering several other church responsibilities, including taking charge of all church activities at a college church.
Jimmy Odukoya was born on April 27 as retrieved from the birthday wishes he has received on social media. However, his exact age is not known because he has deemed such information private.
He has made several stellar appearances in numerous Nigerian movies since 2016, however, some of the most mention worthy movies include The Bling Lagosians, Celebrity Marriage, Baby Palaver, Crazy Grannies, and the Woman King.
