I was stabbed with a knife at the age of 6 when 2 men were fighting in the compound my family and I resided in. It happened that I was playing with my friends when I felt a sharp pain in my right eye suddenly. I discovered that I was accidentally stabbed with a knife in my right eye by one of the guys fighting.
I was immediately rushed to the hospital, but many hospitals rejected me. As God may have it, I was admitted at ECWA Eye Clinic, Mission Road in Kano State.
As if that wasn’t enough, the devil showed his ugly face again. The optician said that the injury will affect the other eye which will make me completely blind. He said that it will take only a miracle for my other eye not to be affected.
The Church we fellowship organized 3 days of prayers and fasting on my behalf. As God may have it, the other eye wasn’t affected.
My growing up was filled with depression and low self-esteem. I hated myself the more when people mocked me about my eye. I wasn’t proud of my look. My confidence was crippled.
However, my mindset began to change as I continue to grow in the word of God. I once see myself to be disadvantaged, but I later discovered that it is only those who are not in Christ that are disadvantaged. Jesus is my advantage.
God is faithful, and I am evidence of His faithfulness. Look at this promising young guy full of smiles that the devil wanted to cut short his destiny, but God’s mercy said “No”.
Hallelujah!
