It has come to my attention recently that gospel kinds of music is no longer just gospel music.
Aside from the popular gospel music artists we know, youths are awakening and using their vocal skills for the kingdom’s use. I came across a random page on IG a few days ago where most of these viral worldly songs are given a Bible-based cover and it’s very appealing to the ear.
As much as majority of the Gen Z are neck deep in worldly stuff, a large percentage of them are already aware of the devil’s schemes and they’re not keeping it to themselves. There are blogs based on gospel content only, There is rap/hip hop gospel music and there is this awakening like never before.
Youths are reawakening, lost souls are returning home and I’m a living testimony of this, The lord keeps giving consistent signs that he’s not done with our generation, He had not forsaken us, this is merely the beginning and that our generation is a tug of war between two powers who are not ready to back down anytime soon.
I see youths of my age bracket on the internet burning for Christ like I’ve never seen elsewhere, making me drop my phone and rethink my life decisions.
I read testimonies, watch videos, and listen to the repentance message of people so deep in the level of darkness that is more than I can ever fathom and their explanation of how this loving father took his time in searching for them and showing up to help at the darkest hour when they think all is done.
There are Testimonies of repentance that will make you want to see God and give him a bear hug for not thinking like a man would and for living out his name as “Love”.
You’ll find all this on the same social media that’s making the majority backslide from the right path. You can’t predict what comes randomly on your page, but you can discipline yourself not to focus much on it and to restrict inappropriate contents from coming on you.
Also deliberately search for the gospel or gospel-related topics and like it when they bring it to you so that next time your page will contain content like that.
Furthermore, know your weaknesses.
There was a point in my life like the majority out there were, that if I don’t overindulge myself with TikTok I will feel bored and cut off from the rest of the world. You can scroll endlessly for hours on TikTok and it’s a video platform so forget about boredom, rather you will be surrounded with interesting short videos that will capture all your attention and you may forget to do any other thing including eating.
Once I realized it was getting out of hand to the extent that I borrowed data to watch TikTok, that was when I knew it was getting out of hand. I had to uninstall the app for like three months and whenever I’m bored, I’ll pick up a novel or something to keep me busy.
If you’re someone that once, you get on Instagram or any of these social media platforms you won’t be able to get off it easily then you better try your best to avoid the temptation unless you must check in.
On Facebook, you can join any Christian-related group of your choice and you can join as many as possible. The groups you’re in on Facebook will determine the content that will be brought to your Facebook page.
On it, if you search for the #gospel or #faith you will see different beautiful contents that will suit your liking.
As rowdy as TikTok is, it’s the content that you search for and like or comment under that will determine the content that will be brought to your feed. The same applies to YouTube & Pinterest.
There are various faith-building trends on the internet today and the majority of all the renowned ministers of God and their ministries have a social media account on all these platforms where they share their teachings, services, ministrations, and the likes of it.
There are various Christian tribes across various platforms today that will keep you on your toes spiritually and physically.
The internet is a mine of knowledge and you can take advantage of this by searching out things, topics or questions you’ve always wanted to ask. There are a lot of informative sites on the internet that will keep you captivated and knowledgeable about lots of things.(This site included)
In summary, Let’s be intentional about the contents we consume on the internet and we should endeavor to do more of personal knowledgable research in order to discover unlimited gems that can uplift our souls and strengthen our faith in Christ.
Well said.
On social media is a tree of good and evil, you’ll decide which one to eat from but I’ll plead with us to go for the good tree which is the tree of wisdom and cordial relationship with GOD.
Watch what you feed your eyes and ear with on social media,it can either mare you or make you.
God bless you dear writter.
This is a good advice for our youth, God has instructed us and given us his commands but he did not take our will from us,we can still decide on what we allow or disallow in our lives, the promises of God are there for us but we still have to confess and pray it into our lives, youths please choose wisely
Beautiful write-up ,continue the good work
The summary has said it all. That you’re a christian doesn’t mean you don’t have anything to do with the internet but be mindful of the reasons why you’re there you need to be highly discipline in visiting the internet, you need to allow the fear of God to rule your life in using the internet ‘be the one to control your interaction with the internet & don’t allow the internet to control you’.
The summary has said it all;
BE The ONE to CONTROL the INTERNET & NOT the INTERNET CONTROLLING YOU & to achieve this, you need to DISCIPLINE your SELF and have the FEAR of GOD.
May God help us to do what is best for us
