Due to ongoing security concerns, all-night street carnivals will not be permitted throughout the council area, according to Epe Local Government Chairman Mrs Surah Animashaun.
All street carnival-related activities should end by 10 p.m., Animashaun told the News Agency of Nigeria in Lagos on Friday.
The chairman urged the council’s lawmakers, community leaders, and religious figures to help educate and inform their followers and fellow citizens about the situation.
“The local government has resolved that there shall be no all-night carnivals in the ancient community, as a result of the security situation.
“To this end, all youth carnivals should end by 10 pm unfailingly. Failure to comply with this executive order, the local government would not hesitate to take action against any violator.
“Please help publicise this order to the hearing of the youths and the public especially organisers of street carnivals that all events should end by 10 pm, ” she urged.
