Look Within, Help Surrounds You

When we are broken and tired, when life has done several setbacks to us and we have lost the fight in us,

there are people around us who still see our potential and could help bring back our lost hope.

They could help us rise again.

“Your divine relationships and gathering are meant to protect and help you in times of need, do not neglect it, no matter how small it may appear.”

God can use anyone to help us, and the least person we expect to receive help from could be our destiny helpers. They could be close to us, but we don’t know because we don’t speak. 

Look Within, Help Surrounds You

There are people around us,

who admire and appreciate us for who we are and what we do and are ready to support us anytime or day;

however, some of us ignore them,

looking for validation and appreciation from supposed ‘higher places’ in our little corners and lose out on the help we could get from those closer. 

Mr. Bright was a young man full of great ideas that would make him independent;

however, he seemed to be the only one planning and trying to execute those ideas. 

He had spent 10 years of his life working with different organisations and had produced great results in service.

As time progressed, he thought about bringing his ideas to reality to enable him to become independent. 

He drew out his plans and proposals, then went to his target big companies and sponsors far away to present them.

“Mr. Bright, we appreciate your idea, but…”

The ‘buts’ responses he gets from his target big sponsors always come with rejections that fill his face with despair,

making him feel his visions are worthless, despite the numerous sleepless nights he has spent researching, studying, and writing.

“Why am I being rejected?” He asked himself, “Is there anything I’m not doing right?”

He continued, “I’ve always been the best in school, with great initiatives that could be helpful to me and society at large.

Those lacking the means to help me seem to key into my initiatives,

but those who I look up to for sponsorship simply reject me for reasons unknown.

What’s the point of trying again?

It’s all useless; I guess I just have to give up on this quest of being independent and adding value.”

He said this as he made a move to dispose of the papers where his plans and proposals were written down.

“What are you about to do?”

His wife enquired, having watched him express his frustration and be on the verge of giving up.

“You suddenly want to give up now after all you’ve gone through to ensure that your ideas succeed?”

his wife asked rhetorically.

“What’s the point now?” He replied hopelessly. “Things don’t seem to be working in my favour,” he continued.

“I thought I was full of great ideas,

but I never knew they were just ordinary, and those who were celebrating and appreciating me for having great ideas were probably deceiving me—

they do all that just to make me feel good.” He said.

“No, dear, no one is deceiving you; you have great visions and ideas. I assure you, you’ll succeed,” his wife encouraged with optimism.

“But how? How?!” He asked.

“By working together on this, let me help you,” she demanded.

“Haha! Haha!” Mr. Bright laughed, “You? Help me? How? I’m doing this for us, so how can you help me?

You have no idea what I’m doing, so how can you help me?

Don’t bother anymore; I’m done!” He said this as he stood up, almost leaving the room.

“This is the problem I have with you!” his wife said provokingly as he faced her again, interested in hearing more.

“You never ask for help from those around you or from those who appreciate your work.

You simply look down on them and feel they have nothing to offer,” the wife said.

“Life is not always like that. You can never tell who would help you,” she continued.

“What if I tell you I have more than the amount of funds you seek to raise from other companies to start up, from my savings and investments?” she unveiled. 

Mr. Bright’s mouth became wide open in shock at that revelation.

“Yes, I do,” she continued, “but you never asked for me to be involved in your business.

Perhaps you feel I have nothing to offer and your big, far-away sponsors do?”

“Well, favour can come from anywhere,” he defended.

“Yes, anywhere.

And it doesn’t exclude your relationships—those within you. We can as well push you to destiny,” the wife admonished. 

The moment he heard those words from his wife, he started to feel guilty.

“I’m here for you; we can join hands and do this together; we can move mountains together.

Don’t be a lone wolf.

Your dreams are valid. You can do this; and you can rise;

there’s no reason to give up now, as long as you have me and other people around you who appreciate you,” she encourages him.

“Hmmm,” he sighed with his head bowed in guilt and shame.

He couldn’t look at the face of his wife because all she had said about him was the truth.

Hitherto, He never asked for aid from those around him who appreciated him; he assumed they could offer him nothing. 

“I’m sorry,” he said, guilt-ridden.

“Sorry for what?” She replied, “It’s okay, let’s just get to work; let’s do this and build an empire together.

I believe in you,” she said,

further rekindling the flame of hope in him once more and drawing him back to his seat to both commence planning and re-strategising together.

Look Within, Help Surrounds You

God can use anyone to help us,

and the least person we expect to receive help from could be our destiny helpers.

They could be close to us, but we don’t know because we don’t speak. 

We should never take for granted or underestimate the love, admiration, and support we can get from people within and around us.

We should learn to value and acknowledge their good presence in our lives. 

When we are broken and tired,

And when life has done several setbacks to us and we have lost the fight in us,

there are people around us who still see our potential and could help bring back our lost hope.

They could help us rise again.
