Lift Your Head Up
Finding ourselves in a situation where we feel trapped, with no apparent way out, is challenging.
Perhaps you’ve experienced a time when you said, “There’s just no possible way out of here.”
But God, in His unwavering faithfulness, is always there to rescue us.
He lifts our heads from despair, enabling us to shift our focus to His glorious presence.

It is tough to be “stuck between a rock and a hard place.”
Perhaps you’ve experienced a time of loss, sadness, or guilt when you said, “There’s just no possible way out of here.”
But, God! He’s faithful to save. He comes and lifts our heads up to focus on His glory.
I cherish these moments of glory when we feel His presence and experience His love.
I believe we all do.
Ever since humans were separated from the glory of God, we yearned to be fully immersed in Him.
We have an enemy who hates us with every fiber of his being,
and would like nothing more than to see us defeated and living a destitute life.
But God made a way for us to leave darkness behind.
Lift Your Head Up
When we believe in Christ’s redemption, we shed the weight of our fallen nature inherited from Adam, the first man,
and we’re born again into a kingdom of light.
But if we are not relishing that marvelous light, even in the middle of gloomy circumstances,
we must pause and let the Holy Spirit reveal where we are not walking in faith.
Maybe our enemy whispered a lie, and we believed it (perhaps not altogether, but it made us doubt).
Doubt is not faith, because faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen (Hebrews 11:1).
If you have fallen for the lies of the adversary and the marvelous light seems to dim,
let me remind you that Jesus said, “I am the light of the world.
Whoever follows Me will never walk in the darkness, but will have the light of life” (John 8:12).
That somber place where you are is nothing but a smoke screen that your enemy uses to keep you in fear.
Jesus also assured us that He would be with us until the end of the world (Matthew 28:20).
Jesus is with you right now. Jesus is light, and He is there to save you.
Acknowledge His presence. Listen to Him.
Follow His guidance, and you will never walk in darkness but enjoy the life-giving light of God—His glory.
Lift your head up and receive the saving grace that God has provided for this moment in your life.
If you have trusted Jesus for eternal salvation, trust Him with the here and now, because Jesus saves.
Let Us Pray:
Lord Jesus, I come to You with the assurance that I can receive salvation and help in these circumstances. You are here with me even though I can’t see You. Light up my heart with Your love. Amen.
Psalm 3:3 KJV
[3] But thou, O LORD, art a shield for me; My glory, and the lifter up of mine head.

Righteousness
The gospel of Jesus Christ is called the good news because it brings life.
Before He came to redeem us by dying for our sins, we were dead in our trespasses.
We had to obey our human flesh. And We had no way to overcome temptation.
We were slaves to sin, and there was no way around it.
But God, because of His great love for us, saved us from living separated from Him.
At the cross, God provided a way for us to die to our old sinful nature.
He made us alive with Christ and seated us with Him in the heavenly places (Ephesians 2:4–6). The Lord clothed us with a robe of righteousness.
The work of salvation is God’s work. Sin separated us from Him, but He made a way to redeem and bring us back to Himself.
Jesus accomplished what we could not do on our own.
Now, sin has no power over us because, as children of God, we inherited righteousness from Jesus Christ.
We are now seated in heavenly places in Christ. There is no condemnation for those of us who are in Him.
However, our enemy deceives us into thinking we have no part in this righteousness.
He tempts us, we fall for his schemes, and then he accuses us of not deserving God’s mercy and grace.
This is where most Christians fail to understand that when we receive condemnation from the enemy,
whether for ourselves or anyone else, we are giving him a seat at our table.
Condemnation is the ammunition our enemy uses against us individually and corporately.
As long as we choose to receive it, we will not experience the comfort our Lord has provided for us in our time of need.
Righteousness was attributed to us by grace. We didn’t deserve it.
God allocated righteousness to our account when we believed because that was the only way to fellowship with us.
Jesus made this holy communion possible.
When we fail to live out righteousness,
we must remember the Holy Spirit’s invitation to confidently draw near the throne of grace because Jesus understands our weaknesses.
And When we do, we will receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need (Hebrews 4:15–16).
So, When the time comes, run to the throne of grace, and you will find a heavenly Father waiting for you with open arms.
Heavenly Father, thank You for receiving me at Your throne of grace.

My Help Comes from Heaven
As a society, we know that there is a number we can call if we find ourselves in trouble.
The person on the other end of the line can send us assistance in case of a medical emergency, a safety issue, or a security breach.
But what do we do when the worry is inside of us? When anxiety is present in the middle of the day?
When hopelessness and fear take over, and it seems there will not be a tomorrow?
The psalmist says,
“I lift up my eyes to the hills. From where does my help come? My help comes from the LORD, who made heaven and earth” (Psalm 121:1–2).
The psalmist knew he could not place his hope on the hills because no one was coming from there to rescue him.
His eyesight needed to go higher, to the heavens, to the unseen Lord who created those very hills and the people threatening the psalmist.
When we believe in Jesus Christ, the Son of God, we are born again into the kingdom of light.
In this kingdom, things run differently than in our world.
“For the kingdom of God is not a matter of eating and drinking but of righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit” (Romans 14:17).
As the Holy Spirit empowers us to walk in the righteousness allocated to us by God’s grace, we fellowship with Him and experience His peace.
Joy is a by-product of walking in His presence (Psalm 16:11).
Worry, anxiety, hopelessness, and fear do not belong in God’s kingdom.
They result from not believing what the Lord has spoken in His Word.
Faith in the Word of God brings us rest.
The apostle Paul invites us to make every effort to enter the rest that comes from believing God.
When we have faith in God’s words, we experience His rest.
With faith in God, we won’t become like the Israelites who never truly trusted God’s ability to deliver them into His promised land.
As we believe our help comes from above, hope comes from expecting to see with our eyes what our faith sees in our spirit.
Peace will win over fear and doubt as we realize that God has the power to save us.
And joy will spring up like a river washing down all unbelief.
Heavenly Father, I won’t fear, for You are with me;
I will not dismay, for You are my God; You will strengthen me; You will help me;
You will uphold me with Your righteous right hand. Amen.
