Prayer to Stop Being So Busy in Life That You Miss What Really Matters
In the fast-paced world we live in, whether we are willing to be honest or not, it takes a lot of effort to pursue the Lord above all else and not get tangled up with life (Matthew 6:33).
Full schedules, children in school, busy careers, not to mention problems in life, seem to have mastered wearing us down and causing us to miss out on what really matters.
Making a determined effort every single day is the only way we ensure that our fire for Jesus doesn’t burn out and that we spend time on the things He knows we need to.
No matter what the cost, we must stay firmly dedicated to carry out whatever it takes to seek the Lord with everything we have. It is from a strong walk with God that He will show us where to spend the time He has given us here on earth.
Take a moment right now and ask yourself if you remember that first moment when you met Jesus and fell in love with Him? How often do you set aside time to spend in God’s presence presently? Has the busyness of life gotten the best of you in some areas? Let us pray!
These are the kinds of questions every one of us should ask ourselves. We need to let these questions uncover areas in our lives that the Lord needs to help us change. We must get stirred up and do whatever it takes to rekindle the flame of our love for Jesus first and people second.
When we take the time to do whatever is necessary to ensure our walk with God is real, alive, and fresh, our lives will find renewed revitalization.
More importantly, God will be pleased with us because He will find us to be people after His own heart. It is in this place of seeking His Kingdom and His righteousness first and foremost that deeply pleases Him (Matthew 6:33).
We’ll quickly find our lives balancing out right before our eyes.
Take some time today and use the prayer and scriptures below to help avoid missing out on what really matters in your life.
Let Us Pray
Father, You hold first place in my life.
I don’t want anything to come between my relationship with You.
I want that fire that I had in my heart when I first met You to grow even stronger.
Life can get too busy and I am praying right now because of that realization.
Somewhere along the way I may have allowed the busyness of it all to steer me off course.
I’ve allowed life to get in the way.
I ask for forgiveness for allowing busyness to get the best of me and I’m running back to You.
Please help me, Lord, to get back to being passionate about You, the relationships, and the things in life that really matter.
It’s time for me to let that fire for You in my heart burn brightly again.
It’s time for me to strengthen my relationships again.
Please purify my heart so that as I spend time in Your presence it will refresh and reignite my passion for You.
My heart’s desire is that my relationship with You holds the highest priority in my life.
Please help me to take the overflow of Your love for me and pour that same love into the lives of others and the things that really matter in life.
I decree and declare that I refuse to let life overtake me.
I decree and declare that my passion for You increases more and more every day.
I praise You that I am on the path to returning to the place of my first love.
Thank You that with Your help I am often pulling away from the busyness of life so that I can bask in Your presence every single day.
I want to maintain a vital connection with You, Lord.
Daily I press into Your presence and get a fresh touch from Your Spirit.
Daily I invest in relationships and things that are truly important.
At the very beginning of my day, I will look to You and wait on You to speak to my heart in a fresh way.
And it is from this place of unity with You that I will keep my focus on what really matters in life throughout my day.
Hallelujah!
I believe and receive everything I’ve prayed and give You glory in advance, for this prayer is answered!
In the wonderful and precious Name of Jesus I pray, amen.
