“Favour is deceitful, and beauty is vain: But a woman that feareth the LORD, she shall be praised.”
Proverbs 31:30 KJV
Happy International Women’s Day 2023
Every year, the 8th of march is specially dedicated to celebrating women of all races, ethnicity, tribe, nationality and faith.
All of us at Diadem Join the world in Celebrating Women on this special day.
The scriptures in proverbs 31:30 tell us the kind of woman who deserves to be praised and the amplified version puts it thus ;
“Charm and grace are deceptive, and [superficial] beauty is vain, But a woman who fears the Lord [reverently worshipping, obeying, serving, and trusting Him with awe-filled respect], she shall be praised.”
Proverbs 31:30 AMP
While we celebrate all women today on International Women’s Day, The woman who above all deserves to be praised the Bible tells us is the one who fears the lord, worships, serves, obeys and trusts him.
I believe the reason it is women with these traits who should be praised is simple, she FEARS, the Lord!
In our world today, There are many reasons for women to abandon the fear and the ways of the Lord and go the way of the world. Listening to the numerous opinions and advice that abounds out there encourages women to embrace the wisdom of the world.
In a world where genuine Godly reverence is hard to find and those who have it are mocked because the world sees it as not being smart.
In our world where Women are being encouraged to be strong, bold, go-getters, and break glass ceilings which are all fantastic, we must proceed to do all these with Godly reverence(the fear of the Lord) as our watch word.
We cannot deny that there is also an undertone in the message that pushes women to discard their feminine qualities and take a harder, “more powerful” stance in a bid to protect themselves from the age-long oppression and discrimination women have faced and endured in different cultures and religions of the world.
There is a push for women to do whatever they like, to abandon all concern, decency and reservation and do just as the “men have the freedom to do”. However, a woman who has the fear of the Lord will not go that route because she knows that men or society are not the standard, the word of God is.
In these times more than ever, a woman who still has the fear of God is a rare gem.
This fear of God she possesses will make her exercise self-control, it will make her learn to be wise, in her dealings, in her speech, and in the kind of advice and content, she exposes herself to.
A woman who fears the lord will learn to be courteous in her manner, and decent in her attire not only for religious reasons but because she has Godly reverence and is cognizant of the fact that God dwells in her body as a temple.
Most importantly she will teach the same to the children the Lord has given her thereby raising Godly seeds equipped to be God’s emissaries in their generation.
This is why she must be praised, and celebrated.
So, on this special day, all of us at Daidem publication celebrate women all over the world but more so women who fear the Lord.
It is my heartfelt prayer that my generation will see an increase in the rise of Women who fear the Lord like never before!
Happy International Women’s Day!
Thank you so much !
