Osas Kelly, a former fighter and chronic fornicator’s life was turned around when God reached out to him in prison. Read and be blessed.
My name is Osas Samuel Kelly. I am from Edo State. I was given birth to in Benin. And I am 40 years old now. I was born into an idolatrous family. My paternal grandfather was a witchdoctor. My maternal grandfather was a witchdoctor as well. I grew up in a place where whey displayed charms and evil powers. And as I was growing up, my elder sister started going to church. And after some years, she died. She was buried. I started living the normal life as a bad boy, drinking. During my secondary school days, I smoked for some time. But I decided to stop.
In my secondary school which was at Ajegunle, I was a gangster. Then they called me “Osankwa”. We would fight in the school. We did a lot of bad things.
When I was aged 22, I learnt how to make hair. I became a hair stylist. I would make hair for ladies. And that was how my problem started. I became a drunkard, drinking heavily and sleeping with a lot of girls without number.
I was also a fighter. So, something happened between me and a man. I was working in a salon at Ile-Epo in Abule-Egba area. I was working at Ikeja before then. But I was requested to boost the salon at Ile-Epo as I was a good stylist. I was nicknamed “magic finger”.
An offer came to me from Lekki. So, I decided to go to Lekki as the pay was better. And the owner of the salon at Ile-Epo who was a very wealthy man, was angry. He started calling me because his clipper was with me. But I was not picking his calls.
He got me arrested by the police. I was at the police station. He said I must pay him N70,000 but I refused. So they charged the case to court. When my family couldn’t bail me that day, they sent me to Kirikiri Prisons. It was when I was at Kirikiri that something happened. Inside Kirikiri, I was crying seriously because I was surprised. It was there I picked up a Bible. And I read the part where it said “God turned the captivity of Zion”. I was just crying and praying.
The next day, I went to the church inside the Kirikiri Prisons. It was there something happened. I heard a voice saying “shut up, don’t cry again. Look through the window”. I looked through the window and saw a warder sitting down on a chair. I saw a prisoner in the prisoner’s blue uniform holding a cane. He was already serving his sentence. And I saw another prisoner in mufti kneeling down. He was a prisoner on awaiting trial. And the voice asked me “who is the person sitting down”? I said “a warder” but it said “no, that is Satan”. The voice asked me another question, “who is that person kneeling down”? I said that was a prisoner awaiting trial. The voice said “no, that is you”. It asked me to identify the person standing. I said it was a prisoner already serving. The voice said that was a demon. It then said “any time you sin, you become a prisoner to the Devil”. It said “you eat when the Devil wants you to eat and drink water when he wants you to do so. That is the way you are living in this prison”.
It then said “look around.. the people here… do you like the life they are living?” I said “no”. He then told me that “the people I sent you to are prisoners of the Devil, go and deliver them”. I was weeping seriously. I ran out of the church. That was when they called out my name as I had been bailed. I came home. When I came out, I still slept with one girl. After then, a lot of things started changing about me. I started weeping. When I kneeled down to pray, I would be weeping. That was how the Lord changed me.
After then, the Lord started using me. I started going for the morning cry, preaching. A lady came saying that she wanted to take me to the US. But the Lord told me “You are not going”. I continued preaching. Today, I have pastored a lot of churches. `The Lord has been using me. I say “may His name be praised and glorified”.
