We are celebrating a very important season for Christians all over the world.
Easter season is here and we can finally shout,
HALLELUJAH!!!
HE AROSE!!!
CHRIST IS RISEN!!!
As we celebrate the resurrection of our Lord Jesus, the very foundation upon which our faith is built, I reflect on what Easter truly means for me as a young Christian.
Growing up Catholic, I remember the Lenten season leading up to Easter, we would attend stations of the cross where we relieved the torture and the arduous journey Jesus endured on his way to the Calvary, bearing the cross upon his shoulder.
Even though I didn’t fully understand it at that time, relieving that process through the stations of the cross always moved me to tears. I remember always thinking wow! What would make a man endure this much suffering?
I would get my answer when I grew older and got to know Jesus for myself. Imagine my shock and initial confusion when I found out that he did it all for me! He left his place of honour in heaven, became man, was crucified, died, was buried and on the third day he rose again! All for me!
It’s initially hard to accept but when you do it is something to shout about! Glory to God!
For me, Easter is the foundation upon which the life I enjoy today as a child of God is hinged. Because of the vicarious death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ, I could be brought out from sin and darkness into God’s marvellous light.
This is something I will remain eternally grateful for.

Let us be reminded that while shouting Hallelujah Christ is risen is great, the best way to celebrate the risen Christ is by our conduct as Christians.
From the pulpit to the pews, we must strive to live a life that is beyond reproach as those who are conscious of their stand as God’s children who were bought with a hefty price, which is the precious blood of Jesus.
