South African Startup FARO Raises $6 Million to Combat Textile Waste
FARO, a South African recommerce startup, has secured $6 million in funding to drive affordable fashion while reducing textile waste across Africa.
The funding round was led by JP Zammitt, President of Bloomberg,
with contributions from notable venture capital firms and individual investors.
FARO’s innovative approach involves acquiring unsold inventory from suppliers, giving products a second life, and reducing waste.
The company’s technology-driven model uses advanced data analytics and inventory management systems to predict consumer demand,
optimize stock levels, and ensure a seamless shopping experience.
With plans to expand to 1,000 locations over the next decade, FARO aims to achieve fivefold growth this year.
The startup’s solution promotes a circular economy, prolonging the life of products, and offering cost savings for both consumers and suppliers.

Dior Announces Kyoto, Japan as Next Destination Show Location
French luxury fashion house Dior has revealed that Kyoto, Japan will host its next destination show on April 15, 2025.
The event will take place in the city’s Toji garden and feature Dior’s autumn 2025 collection by creative director Maria Grazia Chiuri.
The show is intended as a celebration of Dior’s long-standing ties with Japan, which date back to the 1950s.
This event marks the latest in Dior’s global tour of culturally significant locations,
following previous shows in Scotland and upcoming events in Rome, Italy.

The Valentine’s Day collection features six pieces,

The collection, priced from $88 to $268, launches on January 16, 2025.
