Paul Tomisin’s latest release, ‘Grace Story,’ has taken the town by storm, resonating deeply with our personal journeys and life experiences.

Undoubtedly, many of us have faced overwhelming challenges,

but God’s boundless grace proves transformative, saving us time and again.

In Psalm 23:4, David declares, “Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff comfort me.”

Paul Tomisin’s “Grace Story” echoes this verse, reminding us that God’s grace sustains us through life’s trials.

Recently, in a heartfelt post on social media, Paul Tomisin shared his personal testimony, shedding light on his struggles which inspired his song, ‘Grace Story’.

He wrote:

“Earlier this year, I was in a dark place, I had lost a lot of relationships, every bad thing that could happen, happened, there was a lot of pressure and I felt like I lost bearing.

It looked like the things I believed for a long time were failing me.

For nights I couldn’t pray, I couldn’t do anything productive, and I felt like a mess.

So one night, I just set out to drive with no destination in mind.

I couldn’t pray I couldn’t do anything but cry as I drove and this part of the song came as I wept so hard to God.

Paul Tomisin’s ‘Grace Story’

Likewise, in his recent ‘Grace Story Podcast with Pastor Lanumi Lois,’

Lanumi shares her grace story of how she struggled a lot with depression and suicide while growing up.

She says:

“Growing up, I struggled a lot with depression and suicide, that I could not just place what exactly was wrong… I was unhappy for no reason…”

Lanumi goes on to share how she could injure herself due to her sad state from age 14 and how she had multiple suicide attempts.

According to Lanumi, her last suicide attempt was in 2019, but a friend came to her rescue after she had already drunk a sniper.

Lanumi states that she had a lot going well for her in her career, but she detested her existence; she didn’t know what being alive felt like so she craved death.

However, God caught her one day through some friends who led her into prayer.

She says:

“…there was something about the small gathering of them praying. It felt soft. I felt like I could feel and understand who God was.

I went home that day, and in my room, I opened the bible and began to read Psalms talking about the gloriousness and beauty of God.

It felt like something I wanted to look out for the rest of my life, and in that moment, I felt like this was something to live for.

So, because I didn’t find a reason to be alive, I kept finding ways to kill myself because I was living for things that were temporary—money, fame, popularity etc.,

but I looked at God, and there has been peace in my mind. I find purpose to live.” Lanumi Lois
