On vacation with his wife to Caesarea Philippi to mark their 50th wedding anniversary, Apostle Ronald Anderson Rasband encountered divine orchestration of God and shares his experience.
The General Authority of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints took to his verified social media handle to share the thrilling experience he had with a group of young people after God rearranged their meeting just for one member of the group to have a personal encounter with him.
In his words, “Melanie and I just celebrated our 50th wedding anniversary with our family, walking in the paths of the land that our Savior made holy.
“…this was a family trip—and not an official Church assignment—I wanted to be a dad and husband but also fulfill my calling as an Apostle to be a special witness of the Lord, wherever I may be. I prayed that God would put experiences and people in my path so I could be an instrument in His hands—and He heard my prayers” he wrote.
Describing how God made him and his family to meet the group of the young people the following day after their initial encounter without interractions, Apostle Rasband explained his family had run unexpectedly into the young people at Caesarea Philippi but a cancelled venue for family-eat-out concided with a reroute of the young people’s group to also come and eat in the new place his own family had chose.
Although, according to him, he was able to share the testimony of Jesus Christ being the Son of God, born of a woman, dying on the cross and rose from the dead – the personal encounter with the young fellow did not happen on their first meeting.
“The next day, I began my morning with the prayer that if I could be put in the path of anyone who needed my love or testimony, then I would be properly directed. The location where we had planned to go for lunch was closed, so we went somewhere else.
“Not long after we sat down, the full group of young humanitarian volunteers from the day before entered as well. Their lunch plans had also been rerouted.
“We learned that one of the young men had cried the night before because he had missed the chance to meet an Apostle. Both of our prayers were heard, and God orchestrated our paths to cross—for the one” he wrote.
Encouraging believers with his experience, Apostle Rasband reminded believers that God hears prayers and, by divine design, directs the details of the lives of those who believe in Him.
